Johannes Brahms often made arrangements of his own works for piano, so that they could be experienced in a more immediate, intimate setting. Our season opens with one of these, his immortal Ein deutsches Requiem, in the composer's own one piano, four hands arrangement. Hearing this beloved masterwork as chamber music is an experience not to be missed! Other works on the program will include Wagner’s arrangement of Palestrina’s Stabat Mater and movements from Heinrich Schutz’s Musikalische Exequien - the original “German Requiem” that may have inspired Brahms.

Dear Congregational Champions :

We are excited and very hopeful that you and your congregation will team together with us for a Bowl-a-thon November 3rd. The Philadelphia Chapter of Thrivent is hosting this fundraiser on behalf of our Thrivent Builds (Habitat for Humanity) project. I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND YOU COLOR COPIES OF THE POSTER AND SIGN-UP SHEET. Just contact me via e-mail - or the number below and let me know your mailing address and I will promptly send hard copies. I am also sending this to a list of youth leaders and hard copies to the congregational coordinators, but hope that you will be the lead contact at your congregation for this project.
