PHILADELPHIA READS recruits and trains community volunteers to work to improve the reading and writing skills of Philadelphia’s elementary school students. At area schools and community organizations, volunteers commit one hour a week to work one-on-one with a struggling student. All volunteers must attend a training session and obtain criminal and child abuse clearances (seminarians can use the same clearances you got for LTSP).
